Dialogue on Revitalizing the Syrian Textile Sector Through NasTex at the National Private Sector Conference

Nas Tex Group, under the supervision and organization of GrowFast Investment and Entrepreneurship Platform, organized a strategic session titled “Reviving the Textile Sector in Syria” as part of the activities of the National Private Sector Conference in Syria (PSD-2026), organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Syrian Arab Republic and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the support of the Government of Japan. The session was held within the framework of ongoing efforts to support industrial development and strengthen the role of the textile sector as one of Syria’s key economic industries.
The session represented a strategic milestone within GrowFast’s vision to develop the Syria International Textile Exhibition “Nas Tex” into a national and international platform that goes beyond the traditional concept of a trade exhibition. It aims to bring together government entities, industrial chambers, investors, and specialized experts to foster economic dialogue, explore investment opportunities, and develop practical solutions that contribute to revitalizing the Syrian textile sector and enhancing its competitiveness in regional and international markets.
The session brought together a distinguished group of representatives from the public and private sectors, along with specialized experts. Participants included Mr. Osama Al Omar, Director of the Planning and Statistics Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Industry; Mr. Mohammad Al Badarneh, CEO of Nas Tex Group; Mr. Hussam Al Din Al Tatari, Chairman of the Syrian-Turkish Business Council and representative of leading industrialists; Ms. Paola Valencia, representative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and expert in skills development; and Mr. Jamil Kallasi, Automation and Technology Expert.
The session addressed key opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the Syrian textile sector, focusing on enhancing local production, expanding exports, improving value chains, and emphasizing the importance of technological transformation and the adoption of automation solutions and modern technologies to increase industrial efficiency and competitiveness.
Discussions also covered several priorities related to developing the industrial ecosystem, including addressing challenges related to energy, financing, and workforce development, while strengthening integration among various components of the industrial sector to build a more resilient and competitive production model.
Participants highlighted the importance of Nas Tex Exhibition as a strategic platform connecting the Syrian textile industry with global expertise, attracting investment and commercial partnerships, and creating new opportunities for cooperation between Syrian manufacturers and international investors.
This initiative comes as part of GrowFast’s strategy to develop specialized economic platforms that support productive sectors, promote investment and innovation, and transform industrial opportunities into sustainable development projects with lasting economic impact.
Through Nas Tex Exhibition, GrowFast continues to build bridges of cooperation between the Syrian industrial sector and international partners, creating an environment that integrates knowledge, investment, and technology to support the future of Syrian industry and strengthen its presence in global markets.
