From the ruins of a destroyed factory in Aleppo, entrepreneur Fadi Al Ahmad set out on a journey to China to rebuild his dream. With determination and innovation, he founded the global textile company “Al Nassaj” and has now returned to revive the textile industry in his homeland. A story of resilience that embodies hope and perseverance.
In a moment that inspired viewers, Syrian entrepreneur Fadi Al Ahmad, founder and Chairman of Al Nassaj Group, was featured in the third episode of Ahmed Al Shugairi’s program “Seen”. The episode, titled “Syria of Hope”, aired on March 3, 2025, and quickly surpassed 2.8 million views on YouTube. It showcased an extraordinary journey marked by pain and ambition, collapse and rebirth.
The story began in Aleppo in 2001, when Fadi, just 21 years old, started a small textile workshop in a city that was once the beating heart of Syria’s industrial sector. However, with the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011, Aleppo turned from an industrial capital into a devastated city, and Fadi’s factory, like thousands of others, was completely destroyed by bombing.
While most industrialists either waited out the crisis or fled to neighboring countries, Fadi chose a path no one else had: he moved to China. Encouraged by his illiterate mother, he settled in Jiangxi Province and rebuilt his factory from the ground up. Over time, Al Nassaj evolved into one of the world’s leading textile companies, now valued at over $100 million.
In a powerful scene, Fadi returned to his ruined factory in Aleppo after the revolution’s victory — fulfilling a promise he made to Al Shugairi during their visit to his Chinese factory. Standing among machinery that had been silent since June 2012, he announced his plan to restart operations within three months.
Fadi Al Ahmad’s story is not only about the rise of a businessman, but about unwavering belief in one’s homeland, and an industry rising again against all odds. At Grofast, we proudly share this success story — a beacon of hope proving that willpower can achieve miracles, and that even from the ashes, hope can be born.
